New Year, New Look

So you might have noticed the new look we have for International Drag Day 2010?

After sending out a survey a week or so ago we had some great feedback from you all. It seemed you wanted to see PINK, and pink is what you shall have!

Pink is the new colour this year as you felt the red or last year was good but didn’t really say “Drag”.

Also the font has changed as you also felt the original star typeface was difficult to read and again didn’t represent the bold and loud nature of Drag artists, specifically of course drag queens! So the new font represents this in a in your face, blod type of way.

The star has been kept however to pay homage to the original logo and because it highlights the fact that it is a day about Drag Stars all around the world, from the unknown and upcong to the established and much loved, take this day to say and show your love for drag artists!

Welcome to the Blog!

Welcome to the pre-website blog for International Drag Day 2010!

It seems far away but if we are to make it a success we must think about planning the events now for the 16th July 2010.

If you don’t already know, International Drag Day happens every year on the 16th July. It is a chance to embrace all thin drag and celebrate drag artists who give their time to make make gay scenes around the world a vibrant and fun place to be. They have given so much to gay life and culture in the past, present and certainly will in the future. Don’t forget it was a drag queen that threw the first brick in the stonewall riots in New York which led top the gay rights movement.

In order to make the day a success you the people must get involved, if you are a bar/nightclub/cafe/restaurant owner why not hold a drag day party or create a special drag day menu or even cocktail for the day? We need you to create the events and then the website will be the place to advertise them.

Non bar/club owners are essential too, by going to events on the night/day or seeing a show or even more outrageous…..dress up in drag yourself! Embrace your inner Drag Queen and Drag King!

Let’s make IDD a date for the Calendars!
